Sweet Little Thing
I know I know. I don’t blog as much as I used to. It’s not that I don’t like to. I just get easily distracted lately. But I promise to try harder. It is good to get stuff up here. So when I am 60 years old and can’t remember anything from the week of April 11th 2009, I can check back and read the printed out pages from this blog.
I made delicious pancakes this morning. Instead of regular or wheat flour, I used brown rice flour. Pretty good, the texture was different, but not bad. I used this recipe. I liked it. I used oregon strawberry yogurt instead of plain. Just a more delicious decision. I have eaten and enjoyed them. I ate while watching 24.
There are certain things I look for everytime I thrift. Found photos, sometimes handkerchiefs to someday embroider, secret things I can’t discuss for security purposes, jackets, sweaters, collared shirts, lately a queen size bed frame that seems like it might be from the 70s, and many other things. Well I finally found a good jacket. I feel like the jackets I have are good, but some zippers are broken or some are army jackets and I feel weird wearing them to work. I needed an actual “good” jacket. Today at Value Village that dream finally came true. It is a vintage Sears Fieldmaster jacket. The fabric is treated with Storm Plus II storm resistant-breathable wind resistant. 65% fortrel polyester 35% combed cotton. With Dupont Zepel rain/stain repeller. Most of that is talking about the grey exterior fabric. Nice color. Has a slightly darker grey colored collar. The fabric liner inside the jacket and hood is an amazing plaid imported from Italy. The jacket has a tag inside that says it was made in the USA. Good to know. I will have to take a picture soon so you can get the whole feel. Needless to say, this will be keeping me warm from here on out. Which is nice, because for a while now not much can really warm me up. Clothes speaking and speaking in general.
Started compiling little gifts for my brother and sisters birthday presents. Hopefully they will enjoy them!
Day 6 of the cleanse. So far so good. I have been having about 4 eliminations a day. Which is more than usual by 3. Enjoying this cleanse. Each day progresses and they get lighter in color. Also since all of this pancreas talk began over a month ago, my diet has really calmed down. I have been eating pretty good. I must say. Ben would be proud. I feel like since the cleanse has been helping clean me out, my pancreas is a little happier too. Which is a huge relief.
Monday night I saw Jonathan Goldstein speak about his new book. It was pretty great. Here is a little snippet about the book, Sure, it’s the foundation for much of Western morality and the cornerstone of world literature. But let’s face it: the Bible always needed punching up. Plus, it raised quite a few questions that a modern world refuses to ignore any longer: wouldn’t it be boring to live inside a whale? How did Joseph explain Mary’s pregnancy to the guys at work? Who exactly was the megalomaniacal foreman who oversaw the construction of the Tower of Babel? And honestly, what was Cain’s problem? In Ladies and Gentlemen, the Bible!, Jonathan Goldstein re-imagines and recasts the Bible’s greatest heroes with depth, wit, and snappy dialogue. This is the Bible populated by angry loners, hypochondriacs, and reluctant prophets who fear for their sanity. Basically, a Bible that readers can finally, genuinely relate to. His outlook on Bible stories is really funny. It takes a whole different look on them that you might never have thought about. And it is not just for people that read the Bible. Must of us know Bible stories anyway. He is not preaching any way shape or fashion, he is just restating Bible stories in a comical and different way. I recommend this book.
I stayed up till 6am this morning, but I can’t talk about it here. It has to do with work. Needless to say I am pretty tired.
I have a small brown cup near my keyboard with the remains of some maple syrup. I keep thinking its water and almost drank it about 4 times already.
I need to make a new ringtone for when I receive a text messages. I love R2D2, but he just keeps yelling at me. Time to change it up.
Take care.
