Can You Hear the Guitar?

Got a semi-big cassette suitcase thing to help organize all of my Steely Dan and Doobie Brother tapes.

Received a package from my friend Lisa with 2 Valentine’s Day Tootsie Pops. Amazing.

Went to see Mount Eerie and Tiny Vipers last night, it was incredible. Even snowed a little too.

Craving playing an electric guitar with headphones and distortion on really loud and drawn out.

Just had pancakes. I Poured the pancake mix out and, then as one side was cooking, I swirled chocolate syrup around in a spiral on the top. Then flipped it to make sweet swirly chocolate cakes. Mmmm. All I had to drink in the fridge was root beer. So I had an even sweeter breakfast then originally intended!

Went thrifting with Ben yesterday, and I got a nice brown sweater and a sky blue Member’s Only jacket. This was the second time I passed up buying a external 8 track player. I kinda regret it.

The other day I went by REI to buy a lunch cooler. I was talking to the cashier and she informed me about the used gear section they have downstairs. It is always there and always as something in it. So I went down there with the intentions to see if there were any sleeping bags. I don’t want to spend the money on one right now, but I want a nice one so I have been waiting it out till I feel ready. But then I saw a Mountain Equipment Hardwear synthetic down mummy bag hanging there. I went over to check it out, and it was originally priced at 125 dollars. But the clearance used tag said 10 dollars! Someone returned it because they ripped a small hole in it while washing it improperly. So, I decidedly it would be in my best interest to pick it up. So now I am even more ready to go out to the peninsula. I am seriously dying to get out there. I might even just go alone.

My friend Damien gave me these amazing old 78s from the early 40’s. They have people recording themselves talking and one has some piano playing on it. I have been searching for a 78 player, so excited to hear them.

Work has been going well. Pretty busy, and it is going to get even more busy. Some of us are going down to the capitol in Olympia next Wednesday to protest some budget cuts they are trying to make. Basically they are trying to lower wages and cut funds that get directed to programs like the ones we run at work. Totally insane. When are people going to realize that you can’t cut funds to programs like ours. It is not like other businesses, we are dealing with HUMAN BEINGS. These kids need proper care and well trained staff to do it. It makes me so mad when I hear about these things happening. These kids already have challenges before them. they don’t need some government officials taking away anything that is rightfully theirs. They can’t protest these cuts and that is why we must go down there. They can’t read the news and learn about what is happening to them, and that is why we do. These kids need more people to stand up for them.

Just looked at the clock, 11:11

Picked up a desktop home radio scanner, I need to get an external antenna. Then I can listen in on some local communications.

Arizona Omar

arizona omar, originally uploaded by bradley j.

This photo is from when Omar drove with me to Arizona to pick up a bunch of stuff out of a storage unit that was about to expire. We were going to leave in the morning, but then around 11:30pm just looked at each other and said, “Let’s go now!”. So we embarked on a trip to AZ from LA in the dead of night. This is just one example of how awesome Omar is. I feel like I can do anything with him anytime. He is always there for me, and I love him. II am thankful that we have been talking a lot, even since I moved up north. I miss his beard a lot too.

If bricks were Omar, I would want to video chat with a brick everyday.
