Another one of my photos is being used! Over at TreeHugger.com. Except it is an anti-Nalgene ad. Dang. Check it out here though. At least my stuff is out there.
Here is another one of my Nalgene photos being used. Here.
And here is one with me in it! Well, my beard and my jacket. It is an article about scamming on Craigslist. I never thought my jacket would be famous. Here.
One of my Star Wars pictures is being used over at a rad Star Wars site. Here. And another here!
A couple were used on the Phillyist website as well. One here and one here.
One of my photos of Michael Warren is up on this website, hahaha.
I found all of these by checking my Flickr stats. Fun stuff.

I just made my gmail account sooo much sweeter. Lifehacker has a little article about how to do it, here. It took me 2 minutes tops. Very worth it.

I got an email recently updating me on the latest Found Magazine news, and they linked to this website, RapHappy. The name makes no sense, but the website if so great found audio. You can listen to it all for free. Sweet Thunder is another one. These sites are making me really itchy to convert my found audio to the computer to share. I have over 100 answering machine tapes I have been collecting for over 5 years. Plus other random cassette goodies. Including a recently found set of cassettes that have a teacher talking about parts of the world, that I imagine was meant to be paired up with a slideshow in class. They are dated in the 70’s. One of those tapes has this set of recorded interviews from the school. A teacher or someone interviewing a group of different students one at a time about a stabbing that occurred at the school. Pretty interesting.
I have been teaching myself Illustrator CS3. That program rules.
I just applied for a second job. The local record store near our house is so amazing. They have a cafe that serves food and has a coffee bar, as well as a fully amazing indie record store with used stuff upstairs. I applied to be a waiter/barista. Cross your fingers. I have befriended some of the people that work there and they said they would help me get the job, so I hope it works out. Easy Street Records.
I helped a student at work make a mini-comic. He is one of our mainstream kids that comes in and helps out during 1st period. It is called, Dark Forest. If you want to order a copy, please let me know. I assured him there are people out there that like mini-comics and would most likely buy his. We are asking 1 dollar. That includes shipping. He wrote and drew the whole thing, 8 pages. It rules!
Taken from It’s Hard to Find a Friend :
“Rook starts out as the most delicate thing your ears have ever heard: Johnathan Meiburg’s haunting tenor moving fluidly over a classical piano line. That’s how it ends to, but in the middle, for about 30 seconds, the tension erupts in such a way that can only be described as frighteningly orchestral. Listening to this album in bed on a still, dark, night is the best thing you could do for yourself. It gives you the opportunity to soak in one of the most beautifully theatrical records I have heard in quite some time.
Most frontmen of Indie Rock bands are not singers, they are songwriters who had to learn how to sing so their songs could be shared; Johnathan Meiburg is a singer. He is a singer in the same way that Antony, Rufus Wainwright, and Chris Garneau are singers, not in the way that Spencer Krug, Britt Daniel, or Will Sheff are singers. His operatic and ghostly tenor is one of the most immediately disarming voices I have ever heard from a non-classical vocalist. It’s completely undeniable and it couldn’t be better served than it is by the rich grand piano, chaotic horns, delicately tremelo’d guitars, and soaring strings of Rook. I could go on, but i’d rather shut up so you can listen to the beautiful composition below.”
Rook is due out on Matador (6/3). Pre-order it here. (Highly recommended)
Here is an mp3 from the new album - On The Death Of The Waters
