Got off work yesterday and went home. I am feeding the animals till Tuesday so I took care of business. The horses get so excited to eat. Then I sat around a bit listening to music and such, played some Tetris. Went to Jared and Tamra’s place. Met up with Damion, Jen, J&T, and Omar. Played some Mario Party, which was pretty neat. Then we went to Derek’s art show. The art show was rad. Derek’s stuff looked spectacular. I saw one I really wanted, but it had sold so Derek said me might draw another one for me. That would be very dear of him. Then we came back to Simi and I went by Cali house. People met up and we headed to see Polar State play a birthday party. The party was seriously soo much fun. I am really glad I went. I took 322 pictures somehow. Ha. I am going upload them tonight. Well, not all of them, but the ones I like. I will put a link here once they are available for viewing.
This morning I feed the animals. And then did my online rounds and played more Tetris. I tried starting at level 10, which I should be able to beat, but failed. I need practice. Watched a slideshow of the production of Old Joy. Watched two episodes of Home Movies, from Season 1. That show is so funny.
Had 2 vegan chicken patties for lunch. Mmmm. I want some Rice Dream ice cream. Right now I am drinking a lemon-lime gatorade. I like the classic flavours. The new ones are intense, yet I bet they are not that bad. But I swear if you drink a classic Gatorade and close your eyes while you are standing outside, you can channel yourself back to being in little league and you can remember hitting grounders out to left field, or if you were me, you would remember not knowing how to call time out while you are out on left field and then eventually peeing your pants because you were to nervous to do anything or stop the game so you could pee. And then your jacket would be tied around your waist the rest of the day, and you would think noone found out, until your dad gets really mad at you for sitting your wet butt down on his car seat.
I wish there was still an indoor archery range in Simi. That sounds like fun right now.
Saw David Bazan at spaceland last night. He was incredible, as usual. His parents were selling his merch, so I went over and got to talk to them. They live in Riverside County. They were very nice. Everette, Joel, Anna, Shaun, Flourette, Pip, Adrienne, and Jason were there. There were others, that is just who I knew. The bartender was also very nice. Everette and I had Large PBRs with a cherry in it. I dubbed it “The Spaceland”. I got the high score on the Galaga machine but then someone beat me. I think my score was 86,000ish. Before the show I went to the 101 with Joel, Anna, Flourette, Pip, and Shaun. It was Joel’s birthday. I had a veggie sandwich. Yum. Then we drove to the show. Oh wait. Ha. Guess who was at 101. That guy Blake from American Idol. You know, the guy that beat boxed and stuff. Yeah he was a few booths over with a bunch of slick haired industry guys. On the way to the show Shaun and I saw Richard Riehle walking down Vermont on Los Feliz. Pretty neat. He was the guy from that movie Office Space that invented the “Jump to Conclusions Mat”. And then at the show I swear this guy was playing pool. I swear! The whole night was a blast. Really glad I went. On the way out of the show I happened to pass David B in the hall and we had a talk about Neil Young’s album ‘On the Beach’, His parents, Going solo, Starting ‘Black Cloud’, and Life in general. He is such a nice guy.
Other than that, this week has been pretty chill. I put up a few posters. I put up some of my Harrison Ford trading cards on the wall near the door. One from Indiana Jones and more from Star Wars. Got a dry erase board that is also magnetic. Did my laundry, cleaned my bathroom, need to clean my car.
I have been writing a little this week. I think I got some good stuff. I have been in the mood lately for it. Various reasons. It feels good to be writing something.

Thank you to Tamra for coming over to help me fix the wireless card in my computer!!! Now I can blog the day away. THANKS!!
Well, Rugs Not Bombs sells a ton of live shows on DVD from a bunch of different bands. I just bought a City on Film show. And I plan on buying many more. The selection is fantastic. Braid, Built to Spill, Cap’n Jazz, HM, The Impossibles, Joan of Arc, and more. Every show is rated so you know what you are getting, as far as sound and video quality go. Go check them out!
I got this soap last weekend from Whole Foods. Fantastic. My hands feel really clean and they smell amazing. It leaves my hands feeling very soft and new. It has 5 essential oils in it : Clary Sage, Peppermint, Spearmint, Rosemary, and Black Pepper. The smell is very fresh and minty. I don’t usually use bar soaps, but Dan from the Whole Body department suggested I do. I am happy I bought this soap because it is all vegetable and natural.
I am eating chips and salsa and drinking a beer. Pretty much what I have been doing every night lately. The best chips in the world, Que Pasa, made with organic blue corn. The salsa is also very good, mild whole foods brand. The beer is new and really good! It is Anchor Steam’s Summer Beer. I picked some up at BevMo. It is soooo good. I met a really nice older guy in BevMo and he told me about this website, Beer Advocate. Seems really neat. They rate beers based on who comments on them. And the people that comment are really smart about beer. They gave this beer an 80. Sounds good to me.
I might watch the Netflix I have tonight. It is called Best Boy. Looks really good. “Portrait of a family in transition: a mother, a father, and their son, their “best boy.” Pearl and Max Wohl live in Queens with Philly, their cheerful, engaging, and mentally-disabled son. For 50 years Pearl and Max have provided a loving home for Philly, but they’re aging, Max is ailing, and they must figure out what’s to happen to Philly when they can no longer care for him. Are there options besides an institution? Philly’s cousin is Ira Wohl, whose camera follows the family as Philly takes steps into the wider world.”
I listened to my new Joanna Newsom vinyl. OH MAN. She sounds incredible on vinyl. I laid down on my bed and closed my eyes and I could have sworn the band was in the room with me. Seriously buy her stuff on vinyl. Buy everything vinyl. It sounds better. Plus some record labels give you a code to go to their website and download the album for free if you buy their vinyl. That is a great great deal I would say.
Oh man. I can’t stop eating chips and salsa.
I need to hang out my Jordan Crane minis this week. They are very dear to me, and would look very nice on my wall.
Bye for now
This weekend was packed with fun.
Friday night I went to Mike’s birthday at Red Lion and saw a bunch of his friends that I always love to see. Red Lion is a German themed bar in LA. You can get huge plates of sausage and big beers. Then we walked across the street to the Cha Cha. I love that place. We had more drinks there. The photobooth is only 2 dollars! And they have a vending machine that is always filled with old 70’s and 80’s trading cards from movies and television shows. I think it is safe to say that we all had a really good time. I know I did.
Then Saturday I worked till 3:30, and then bought a 15 dollar desk from Simi Thrift. It fits perfectly in my room. And now I can do things. Like use my computer and build crafts. Then I went to Omar’s to pick up some of my stuff that was still there, then went to Sean and Brenna’s to get that stuff, then went to Alex M’s Graduation BBQ. I ate vegetables. We looked at Saturn through his dad’s telescope. You could see the rings! We also saw Jupiter and it’s 3 moons. Pretty rad. Then I stopped by Jenny’s and went in the spa with Wes, Andrew, and her. Then played 65, a card game, with some of her family. I am not good at it, at all. I tried though.
Sunday I woke up kinda late. Brenna came over and we were looking at the new guinea pigs that were born the night before. They are so small and cute. I picked a few strawberries and then Damion called about going to Vegan House before the BBQ at Ryan’s house. So I got ready and headed out to LA to eat lunch. I had the usual soy chicken nuggets, Cowboy burger, and Blueberry shake. Amazing. Vegan Gouse is by far my favorite place to eat right now. And they just extended their hours till 12!! That is good because of the distance and all. We headed to Silver Sun Liquor and got drinks for the BBQ. The BBQ was fun. Talked to Corban and was able to give her the new Joanna Newsom EP. Good times. Then Damion, Jen, and I went to Sean and Brenna’s to watch Soprano’s. I have only seen about 4 episodes. And so I figured the last one would be good. But it was the worst episode of television I have ever seen. Huge let down. I would have rather of watched 7th Heaven. That was how bad it was. Then I went home and watched some of the Pixies documentary quietLOUDquiet. It is really good.
Now I am at work till 8. Going to set up my desk and such when I get home, and try to get my wireless card to work so I can go online.

I went to the Cha Cha and Red Lion last night. It was Mike and Becca’s Birthdays. Soo fun. I love seeing all those friends. I got to eat Vegan House. We all had drinks and a really good time. I even got Three’s Company trading cards! I think Damion or Jen said it would be funny to take a photobooth picture with my shirt off, so that lead to me doing this. Good times.
Watched Empire Strikes Back last night. So good. I was so tired though. I went to sleep right after.
Work was good, except I was soo tired.
I ordered a few zines just now. Going to Target later to get some SW Legos.
Going to Red Lion tonight for Mike’s Birthday!
I am going to go thrifting today as well to find a desk. Once that piece is in place my room will be complete. Thus, completing my life, well sorta.
Miso Soup please.
I want to make a vegan casserole.
I am watching a Bonnie Prince Billy poster on Ebay. Crossing my fingers. I need to frame some art I have to put up soon.
Han Solo is seriously the man.

I have been waiting to buy personal checks for about 3 years. I was waiting for Star Wars checks. I found some at the convention! I am going to get the character ones, I think. And a 25 year anniversary vinyl checkbook cover. Sweet. I can finally write checks for things, in style.
Going with Derek for margaritas right now, Sammy too I think.
I need to go camping soon. Bad.
Ice tea and cranberry lemonade mixed together is beautiful.
I am getting some Star Wars legos on friday. I think I already said that, but I am. I am just excited about building them. I want the X-Wing and the AT-ST
Okay I better get.
My room is looking sweet. My bookcase is setup and the books, mags, comics, and such are filled in. I have extra room for future purchases.
Adios.
I am wearing regular length socks with shorts today and I honestly think it is over heating my body. That is not a fact, but it does seem extra hot today. I should buy more ankle socks for when I wear shorts. I only wear grey socks, so that gives me an extra challenge when buying socks. But Hanes make good grey socks, and Journey’s sells ankle grey socks. So with those two offerings I am covered.
I am getting more settled in at my new place. I found the hardware for the bookcase today, and went to Ikea to get an extra copy of the plans, because I lost mine. I also picked up some frames for Derek and a magazine holder thing for Omar. Good times.
Yesterday, Jenny, Damion, and Jen came by at slightly different times to check out my new room. I gave them a full backyard tour and all. Jenny came bearing gifts of a mix cd and a vegan pumkpin cookie, mmmmm. Then I went to get some food real quick and head over to Sean and Brenna’s. We watched Soprano’s. It was insane. The last episode is this coming Sunday. Also, I went to Target to buy the Star Wars Lego game for the DS. AWESOME. I played some of it today and I am way into it. Goodbye world, hello more Star Wars related entertainment. Ha.
Tomorrow I will be all the way moved in and everything will be set up. I just need to find a desk this week. Something not too big but big enough to have my computer and some work area for zines and the like.
I need an oil change. Well, my car needs one.
On the 24th I am up for my 2 year upgrade on my phone. Sweet news. I can’t wait to pick something out.
The new Joanna Newsom Ep is soo good. I want to take her out to dinner.
Being vegan is still going great. Some think it is hard, but really I am having a fine time.
My brother invited me to play Ultimate Frisbee yesterday after church. Man oh man. It was soo much fun. I am glad I went. I saw some old friends and we all ran around like crazy for around 2 hours. I was exhausted afterwards. And today my body feels worked out. But that is good.
Derek Albeck has an art show on the 23rd of June. Mark your calendars! This one will be in Westlake. It will be filled with a ton of amazing art that he is setting at really good friend prices. I will post more details when I get them. But I think everyone will have a blast, and your life will benefit big time when you purchase a piece of his art. If you haven’t seen his stuff lately then you should really come out. It is amazing.
I am going to drive home now. If you call me tonight and I don’t answer I am probably running around collecting Lego money and lightsabering stormtroopers.
Last night I went to Blythe’s parents house for her Grad party. It was soo much fun. I love hanging out with all of them. Plus, a lot of really great friends showed up.
“This rug is black… isn’t it?”
Today I worked and now I am getting the last of my stuff out of Sean and Brenna’s place. I am sad to leave them but happy to set up my things and put things back onto my bookshelf.
I cut out a few good looking movies from the LA Weekly earlier. I need to take more time to see good indie films while they are in theaters.
It is kinda hot today. Sorta too hot.
