Brenna and Sean invited me to Bingo last night. It was soo rad. I haven’t played since Arizona, but I have really wanted to. It brought back some fond Bingo memories. I kept thinking the old casino cocktail waitresses were going to give me a free soda, but this was at a church so there were no cocktail waitresses. But they did have free coffee. It was great seeing Sean and Brenna. They are great friends. I can’t wait to go again.

I found a pretty funny thing online today. Someone asked Google for driving directions from New York to Ireland. Here is a link to the small article, and here is a link to the actual Google page.

I got my ticket in the mail for the David Bazan show in May.

My cousin Chris is going to let me borrow his backup road bike. It is from the 70’s I think, and it is yellow. I talked to him about borrowing it because my Dad was saying that I should try and ride different types of bikes before I buy another one. Riding feels good, so I am excited to ride a bike that will smoothly coast across the pavement around town.

Last night Jen and I went to Vegan House. I had really been craving that place, esp since I moved further away from it. But actually it didn’t take us that long to drive there after all. We both had chicken burgers. I had the Cowboy Burger, which is a grilled vegan chicken patty on a whole wheat bun. Toppings include lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and vegenaise. And Jen had the Soy Chicken Burger, which is the same as the Cowboy but fried instead of grilled. We both shared soy chicken nuggets to start. Oh man, they are amazing. If anyone, and I mean anyone, ever wants to get soy chicken nuggets with me out there please let me know, I will even drive. Because I think everyone needs to experience them. I had a Raspberry Apple tea as well. Once our plates were empty we headed over to Skylight. I got a book that I have wanted for a while. It is called, The Secret Language of Sleep - A Couple’s Guide. Evany Thomas says, “With THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF SLEEP from McSweeney’s Publishing, a couple finally unlocks the secrets hidden within their chosen sleeping position. Each pose (there are thirty-nine in all) is deciphered using an easy-to-identify illustration, an overview of the sleepers’ traits and tendencies, along with tips about which stretches and diets to try to enhance the effectiveness of the pose. A legend of handy icons points the way to the poses that are most therapeutic for specific kinds of sleepers, including: snorers, outdoorsmen, couples suffering from intestinal ailments, and anyone confined to a twin-sized bed or tent. The book is color-coded based on the four Comfort Zones, and features a dream-blue cover embossed with an illustration of The Ticket Puncher, the favorite pose of couples whose schedules never quite mesh.” I looked through the book and found the position I had been sleeping in for the past 7 months or so. Pretty interesting. It even talked about putting one leg or foot out of the covers, which I like to do. I think this book is an excellent idea for couples. I am not saying that it is the solution to all of your problems, but I do believe that sleeping is good, and this book has a lot of fun and comfortable sleeping positions. Plus, it dives into the meaning and thoughts behind each position.

Oh I went a little off topic there. So Jen and I went to Skylight. Then we went to the new Pinkberry down the street and shared a small Green Tea yogurt with raspberries. The raspberries were so fresh. I had been there before but for some reason this time it tasted soo much better. After we ate we headed back on the road and came back to Simi to get her car. I had made a mix recently for friend and I had a copy of it in my player, so I went through most of it with Jen talking shortly about each band. Which was fun, I kinda felt like a history professor, but not. She enjoyed the mix so I gave her that copy.

Damion and Jen came by my room at Omar’s, which was fun. The room is a bit messy right now due to some new additions I have to move, but overall it was fine.

I just realized that the B-Complex vitamin I take has B-12. What a relief.

I got two more Brockman Light Vol. 2 minis yesterday from Giant Robot. One is the pink rabbit which I didn’t have, and the other is another mystery one! Which is insane. How did I get so lucky? Now I have two cavemen to hang out with each other.

it’s the return of no sensitivity

Hello, Operator. Headphones.
So I rode my bike to work yesterday morning. Oh man, leaving at 5:15am to ride 5 miles was really nice. I haven’t felt so at peace in a long time. The cold air and dark early morning erased all of my recent troubles. By the time I got to work it was about 5:51am. I sat down and waited for my shift to start, with a glass of water. After work I rode home, and that is when my legs started to get angry. It was a nice angry though, because I knew they would thank me later.

I watched Half Nelson last night. Ryan Gosling is such a good actor. I recommend this movie to everyone.

I found a new website that has really nice stuff. Perfect Organics. I want this. Hey Kirby and Blythe! Check out what they are coming out with soon for Hero! THIS. neat neat

My new bag comes in the mail Thursday. I can’t wait to carry around something new and more organized. Thanks Beamer!

I went to Whole Foods with Jen from work last night. I got some good eats. Including some amazing freshly baked whole wheat tortillas, mmmm. Then Jen and I got some prepared foods and ate real quick ,well actually we were there a while talking about current events. I wish they would have had those Italian sodas.

Oh and I got some coffee flavored soy milk too, which I enjoyed a few minutes ago.

Everyone told me it was going to rain today, but it has yet to.

I set up my bedside table in here as a DVD/VHS player stand, and it looks terrific.

Omar saw the Rx Bandits last night and he said it was amazing. Steve and Jimmy also went.

Wear the same jeans for several days

Trader Joe’s has this new Lentil Rice Biryan that is microwavable in 90 seconds, although I prefer to just put the unopended package into boiling water for 5 minutes. The package says, “A classic Indian dish with Basmati rice, tomatoes, chickpeas, lentils, green beans and select aromatic spices and herbs.” And that is exactly what it is. It is also delicious. And also 1.99

How does Pedro the Lion always make me feel better?

I got some more Tom’s of Maine toothpaste…finally. I needed a new tube for a while. I got the apricot flavored homeopathic-style whitening one. So far it is great.

Today I worked from 6am to 2pm because a client had to stay home from school. I love getting off early.

Chuck Klosterman is one of my favorite authors right now. I am just beginning one of his books.
I have a small headache. (as he leans over to the mini fridge next to his computer and grabs an Anchor Steam, problem solved?)

(And then he realizes he has no can opener in sight, oh wait thats right, it is a twist cap, phew)

I didn’t feel like taking a full shower so I just took my shirt off and leaned over the tub to wash my hair. Some people can go days without washing their hair.. how?! Mine gets really gross if I don’t wash it. Or maybe it is because my hair has no scene points. It just kinda hangs out. My hair could be a painting because it is always the same. I never get out of the shower and look at myself and think, hmm maybe I should just let it air dry and be messy. That seems insane to me. Maybe it is my slight hair line, and the fact that I am almost 26 and that trying to make my hair “look cool” is laughable to me. On the topic, a truly believe a girl should be able to leave the house without makeup. I mean, why do most women/girls feel that they need to cover up so much? Natural beauty is something that is slipping from society fast, and it has been for a while. But I would like to think that there are still amazing girls out there that cherish natural beauty. I don’t mind make up at all, I am just saying.
Mike is working on my bike more tonight at his other job. I know he told me that it might be ready because he has other things he has to do. But man I want to ride so bad. I also want to take a few photos of my bike so everyone can see. Beamer showed me some rad photos of his rides.

Metal Heart

Does anyone want to start a Pedro the Lion cover band? I am dead serious.

Finally got my Wholpin 3 DVD. I ordered it in December, man, it took them forever to finally get it to me. But it looks amazing.

I want someone who can truly share passions with me.

I just took a daily vitamin with my Anchor Steam, to me it makes the vitamin multiply in value and strength. I would go into it, but it is a very scientific thought process and I just can’t get into that right now, it will harsh my mellow.

I got my ticket for the May Ben Gibbard and David Bazan show. Booyah.

I think this weekend is wash my bed sheets weekend.

I have a feeling that I am going to feel restless and crazy if I don’t go out somewhere within the next 15 minutes.

I need to get my ticket for the Star Wars exhibit over at the CSC soon. It ends April 29th, and there is NO WAY I am missing it. I might even go twice.

I wish Harmony was working at Season Ticket tonight. I want to play trivia.

Low exposure

I just got back from bowling. Last week my average was around 170, and tonight my average was more like 115. Man I try to take bowling very seriously, but it is hard to when you do that bad. Not to say that those low scores stink, they just stink for my usual scores.

I bought the new Arcade Fire.

Modest Mouse comes out on Tuesday, looking forward to that. I have the album already and it is very very good.

I am sleepy.

This bag of raisins on my desk has been staring at me all weekend. I should just eat them already.

I wonder if any of my mail is still going to 1615 Alameda? For example, for some reason I never got my Wholphin 3 DVD, but I wonder if they tried delivering it and left a note saying they tried but I wasnt there to get the note. Dang, Oh well I emailed them and they are sending me another one anyway.

I cleaned up my bike with they help of my mom today. It was fun. I am taking it to Mike on Tuesday and then I am going to ride a lot. I hate driving… most of the time. Depends where I am going really, but lately yeah I hate driving.

This will be our fate

I really need to get my bike from Newbury tomorrow. Maybe I can talk Omar into going out there tomorrow, because my car is too small. Or maybe my Mom’s truck. I really want to ride. Put a cassette player in the basket and ride. Blast some ridiculous music out of the speakers.

Omar and I just watched Stranger Than Fiction. It was really good. I recommend it to you all.

I have been eating salad a lot this week. Thanks to my Mom and Dad for taking me to Trader Joe’s on Saturday. I got a little fridge from Costco, and I thought, “Hmm if I fill it with salad and really healthy food, then that is all I will have to eat at home, and that will force me to eat really healthy.” And it is working. I have been drinking a beer a day though, but I don’t really see the harm in that. It is nice with dinner, and I am sure it has the same positive qualities as wine, right? Well, I know that is not true, but it does taste good.

I saw Brett and Katie last night. That was nice catching up with them. They are awesome. Katie got accepted to San Francisco State. Wait, her last name is Francisco. Weird. Fate? Ha, that is weird.

It is midnight, so I am going to turn the television on, and start at channel 2 and go up to 13 then skip to 52 and then go up to 70. Then I am going to go back to what ever looked best, which is probably nothing, in which case I will just put it on 66 and set the sleep timer to 20 minutes. Put my body pillow between my knees and tuck myself in. That is the new routine.

Turn around

I just dropped off my car with Jim over at Integrity Automotive. He is the best in Simi for Honda and Acuras. He is the honest mechanic you have been looking for. I got a huge tune up package. Probably around 350 dollars. But my car is going to run soo smooth afterwards. That is going to be nice. I need a refreshing look at my car again. Because I am going through one of those periods of time where you hate your car. I mean, it is a great car, but I want AC and a newer feel. I skateboarded to Omar’s afterwards, and man I felt that in my legs. Like a mini work out.

Now I am back, I just took a shower and I feel clean.

Omar and I are going to hang his second shelf in a bit. The first one looks great!

Broken Chairs

I had Z-Pizza for the first time today. Pretty good. Mmm soy cheese.

Pretty much worked all day.

Ryan called to invite me to handball, I probably should have gone but I am feeling kinda lazy tonight.

Sweet Potato Chips contain beta carotene. I like both of those things.

Then Saturday we may or may not be playing a show in the valley with Honest People. Either way I am still going to go to the show. It is Honest People’s CD release show!! Everyone should go.

I want to start Sunday Night Bowling again! I remember how amazing and fun that was. I know most of you reading this used to go and some of you want to bowl. So come on! Lets go bowling!

Conventional Wisdom

Last night I got to see Chris and Lydia’s Apartment. They had just cooked a really good dinner and let me have some. Lentils, greens, vegetables, mmmm. I learned that Lentils are very healthy for vegetarians. We also had german chocolate pie, mm. We talked about a lot of topics, and I really enjoyed talking to them. Chris and I put together their new filing cabinet from Ikea. I thought it was going to be realy easy, but I messed up a few times. It came together very well though. It is going to be fun getting to know them better. We made plans to watch “Wal-Mart the High Cost of Low Prices” soon.

Today I worked and then came back to Omar’s. I have watched a bit of TV and gone online for most of my morning. Nothing is ever good on TV. I watched reruns of the Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

I have been enjoying raisins soo much lately. Trader Joe’s has really good organic raisins for 2 something. I keep them in my bag and eat them when i get hungry. For example, today since I don’t have a mini fridge to store food in yet, I ate raisins for breakfast, ha. While laying in bed!

My mind is all over the place lately. I have been doing a lot of thinking about God, organic foods, and whether or not I should fix up my Honda Elite.

Mythbuster’s are talking about static electricity and gas stations. That would be such a bummer to set your car on fire while pumping gas. I hate to admit it, but one time a few years ago I left my car running while I pumped gas into it!!! I got back inside and realized what had happened and it really freaked me out.

Time brings change

So as some of you know I have been having a pretty rough time lately. This has been something I have been wanting to blog about and just haven’t had the courage to put it up here yet. But that has been stopping me from blogging at all, because every time I feel like blogging I know I need to let people know what is going on with me. For various reasons.

Well, Liz and I broke up. I wont go in to details, out of respect, but the whole thing has been incredibly painful for me to digest. I don’t mind talking about it, but ask me first and depending on how I feel I may or may not talk. It has been hard this week talking about it. So I don’t think I am completely ready yet.

I am staying with Omar in Simi for the time being, and will eventually rent a room somewhere. His family has been incredibly nice with letting me stay here. I had several friends offer there rooms for me. I really appreciate all of the offers.

I am sure you are all wondering what happened. Some of it I still do not fully understand, but I know that this is for the best. It is hard to admit, but in time I will be able to see it.

So if you see me around Simi more that is why.

Now I am going over to Mike Rivera’s for a beer.
