That is, if you want a specific color other than red or blue and such. Hex codes look like this #CCFFFF.

Me bringing it into the harbor

Today Bob and I took out a sailboat that he charters out at his work. I think it was about 25 feet or so. We left around 8:15 and arrived at the dock around 9. We stopped at 7-11 for some coffee and snacks. We talked to one of his bosses for a bit, nice guy. And then headed out to get the boat ready. We did some things with the sails and knots and ropes and things. It was my first time out so I learned alot of lingo that I had never heard before. Like jib, jib hank, inboard and outboard motors, jibing, backwind, tiller, traveler, come about, and much more! I learned how to steer using the tiller. I even learned how to Jib. Jibing means falling off, pointing away from the wind, and causing the sail to be flipped across the boat. It crazy because you have to pull the ropes that control the tightness of the front sail going each direction. So Bob would control the main sail and I would go underneath it as it flys to the other side and tighten the ropes that control how much wind the jib sail gets. It was pretty fun. The wind was between 15 to 25 mph. Or for you Canadians it was 24 to 40 kilometers per hour. And we even got tilted to about a 30 degree angle! Which kinda scared me at first, but once you get the hang out it is pretty exciting. The whole day was exciting. Sailing is fun. Bob was very knowledgeable and tought me alot about sailing.

‘Neath the Sycamore Tree

I hung out with Damion and Jen alot this last weekend. We went to some neat places. We were stopped in traffic

When I was driving to Damion’s apartment on Sunday, I saw this large group of motorcycle cops riding together for what looked like no reason. Strange I thought. Except I was able to drive right behind them from Ventu Park Rd. all the way to Alameda St. in Burbank!! They were taking the same route as me. All these cars kept getting our of our way. It was nice.

Damion and Jen

Damion and Jen drove me to The Hat. They had Sandwichs and I decided to eat the chili cheese burger along with french fries with gravy and cheese on them. Oh man, let me tell ya, I was soo full. I have been doing better at not ordering food according to what my brain wants to eat. It always wants to much food. I think I could, most of the time, get away with eating half as much.

Rad VinylWe went to hollywood for a while on Sunday, and we stopped into a Goodwill. Where I found this record!! It is in really good shape too. 1 dollar. I look like a dork in this photo, but I guess that is realistic, right? The butterflies in the background are real. Damion most likely got them from Jen. Jen collects neat little stuffed animals, acutal dead animals that are stuffed not carebears, and assorted other non-living things. She even has a real human arm on Damion’s shelf. It is just the bone, but it still gives me the heebie jeebies. (Damion is building me a lightsaber!!)

It’s the pancake breakfast, we do it every month.

Today turned out to be a very relaxing day off.

I woke up around…oh wait, I did work a little. Just from 6 to 8:30 though. After that it was a relaxing day off.

I stopped by the supermarket to visit Ken, because he wanted to let me borrow the American version of The Office. So then I went to my parents house to take the bike out of my mom’s truck that my grandma gave me. While there I watched 4 or the 6 episodes on the DVD. It is pretty funny, but nowhere near as funny as the BBC version. But yes, the American version is funny.

I then drove to the Army Navy store in Simi to get another pair of these great shorts. Earlier this week I bought a pair of brown BDUs. I just learned that BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform. Now I feel like I am going into battle or something. But in reality I am just eating string cheese or at work. Well anyways, they fit great! And now I have brown and black. Next I will get the BLACK BATTLE DRESS UNIFORM SHORTS! BATTLE!

Afterwards I drove home. I put my two recently aquired Schwinns in the shed. And then came inside and watched 2 more episodes of the American version of The Office.

Then I went down to the Brister’s. Brian and I played Battle Front II. Bob, Brian, and I went to In and Out. I had a cheeseburger. Then we picked up Jesse and dropped off Brian and went to the new Sports Chalet where Brian works. It looks nice. Bob bought nice glasses.

Then I dropped them off at the Brister’s, and headed out for Ventura to shop.

The weather was terrific in Ventura! I went to about 4 thrift stroes. Here are some camera phone pictures of everything I bought.

414

Above is the Kodak 414 I got for $2.99. It has a motor driven film advancer!

124

This is the Kodak 124 I got for $1.00.

This is the transicorder I bought. It is reel to reel! The sad and bad news is that I put batteries in it and it does not work. At least it was only 5 dollars. Look how glorious it is. Man I wish it worked.

Above is the universal remote I bought for 30 cents. I can open it up and put in a 9 volt battery, and then I can get codes from garage doors and input them. The world will be MINE!!! Well at least everyones garage doors will be. Maybe.

This is the Kodak Field Case i bought for, yes, 50 cents. It fits some of the Kodaks I have. Kinda a neat addition to my collection. I bet I have around 15 or so now.

I bought a Willy Mason album. I like it alot. After listening to it I realized I have actually heard some of it before. I heard it again recently on NPR. Late one night they had him on and he talked about his songs and I remembered how much I wanted to hear more, plus he sounded terrific on the radio that night.

Pink Chimney’s in Maine

Couldn’t keep me away.

At first today I felt that I was being too lazy.

But then as the day progressed I felt ok about it. I even ate very healthy today. Breakfast was around 11:30, and it was a turkey sandwhich and 3 Trader Joe’s Vanilla Bean Cookies. Then for lunch I had a strawberry sandwhich and some grape juice. Lastly, dinner was an incredible and delicious assortment of chicken, steamed asparagus, white rice. I feel like I ate very well today, and I am going to try and keep it up.

The first part of my day up until 2 I was just kinda bumming around the house. I did make a webpage for myself though. I have the problem of forgetting to check certain things online, so I wanted to make a site that has the links I want to remember to visit everyday. www.bradstemke.com/xxoo That is my first attempt at that. It is pretty simple, but I do like the colours.

At two, I drove out to Simi and met up with Brett Francisco. We went back to his house and sat around catching up. We talked about design and web programming. He is a part of La Visual. A fantastic design company from Southern California.

Then at 5 or so, I went to my parent’s house to eat some food. Ha. That is when I had the strawberry sandwhich. Mmmm. And the grape juice.

I then drove over to meet up with Ken and Ashely. To eat dinner and catch up on things. Their two boys Elliot and Ethan have grown so much! They are honestly such good boys too. Just watching Elliot and Ethan tonight I can tell that Ken and Ashely are doing such a wonderful job as parents. I even got to help feed Ethan noodles! Ashely cooked the dinner, and it was fantastic! I was telling her how just the other day I was craving asparagus, so it made me happy she happened to make it. It was very nice of them to have me over. What a great family.

So I just got back a little bit ago and I washed my face and got on here. I stopped by Whole Foods to see if I could get some late night coffee, but they said they ran out of coffee filters. Dang. They have some really good coffee. Ken drinks coffee, and if Ken drinks coffee then I want to too.

Well I am going to go back upstairs and say hi to Chris.

Before I got upstairs I think I might eat a small brownie my aunt baked today. Brownies are healthy, right? I think so.

I went to my parents house after and had some pasta. It had mushrooms and cheese and meatless meatballs. mm.

I watched 1 hour of Full House.

I stopped by two thrift stores but found nothing. Oh wait. Thats not right. I found 3 old Atari 7800 games. Dig Dug, Pac-Man, and Pitfall II. Plus a box of 10 brand new 5 1/4 diskettes. Which I will use for a project.

The whole reason for the shopping was to find shorts. I found none. So i decided to goto the Army Navy Store because the guy that owns it is soo nice. He always remembers me. I bought a pair of brown army shorts. I have wanted them for about 2 years, but never bought them. Isn’t that weird?!

The photo is of me and Ryan at lunch today. I had a salad.

Now I need to goto work, because I work in 30 minutes.

Shiner Bock

Chris’s friend Bob came over last night to get the Suzuki 450 running. It must have been at least 10:30 or so and he comes into my camper with a Shiner Bock. It was pretty funny, and I was very thankful for the late night visit and beer. Shiner Bock turned out to be AMAZING. Seriously. If any of you drink beer and want to try it we should all BBQ and buy some. Mmm Mmm Mmm.

Jake, Bob, and I worked on my scooter yesterday! They really really helped me out alot. Man, we took apart the carbirator and cleaned it really good. We might have also fixed a small problem with the gas tank. We attached the new brake cables. Put a bunch of the body pieces back on. Charged the battery. A few other things too. But I am really excited because I think it is close to running! It is a red Honda Elite 80, from 1985. And it rules.

I recently watched Junebug, and it was soo good. The cinematography, and character development was fantastic. Also, the sounds and the way they used them was really neat. And seemed unique. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Today was a good day. I worked from 6 to 8:30. And then went to my parents house. I had some 5 year cheddar from Whole Foods, and a bran muffin. I drank lots of water today too. That felt nice. I got my mom’s mountain bike out because I want to start riding around town. Except the gears or the chain is messed up. Every few rotations the pedals jump forward a few notches. Really lame. So I went over to Omar’s house, and Chris Andelin was there. Chris and I played Tony Hawk on XBOX 360 for a bit. We decided that the 2 player mode, Fireball, was the best.  I left Omar’s around 2.

Then I drove to work. And work was good. Two of the kids and I did some yard work. being in the sun felt good, even though i hate the heat…alot.

The best parking spot ever

While I was at the bank today, I found this sweet parking spot.
I also found a swell long sleeve shirt at Goodwill.
I am sitting next to the famous Chris Andelin. WOW expert. Probably the best.

Today has been great!

Chris and I got to REI in Santa Monica around 7:45am. There were about 27 people in front of us. Which meant we were part of the first 200 that would receive the bottle and gift card. We met some nice people in line, plus we got breakfast! One person we met was David, he was in front of us in line and was really interesting. He was talking to me about The Thirteen Moon Calendar Change Peace Plan. Which was very interesting. So when 10 o’clock hit we went inside and got a 5 dollar gift card and started looking around. My first thought was that i should check out the North Face Roo pack I have always wanted since I had a gift card and a 20 percent off coupon. But I didn’t see it. I know it is at the Northridge store so I will go there to get it. The gift card and coupon make the pack 12 dollars. After we left there we walked down to 3rd Street. We went to Famima!, where I got some Chelsea Yogurt Scotchs. Mmmmm. Also a fried curry chicken pocket. Really good. Then we went to the Apple store and drooled over the laptops. I made a song using garageband. haha. Here is a link to it. Keep in mind, I made this in 10 minutes. Using the keyboard, which makes the element of keeping time very hard. Then Chris and I went to Hi De Ho Comics on Santa Monica BLVD.
I got…

They seem really great. I will read them tonight. When Chris and I got home we ate a bit of food, and then started the movie “Match Point“. Woody Allen’s film from last year. It turned out to be soo good. It really kept us guessing and the dialogue was terrific.

YES! SATURDAY!

Click here to see me riding the ferris wheel in Santa Monica.

I took this photo today.

If anyone has to take this classes at Moorpark please take them with me.

Today has been great. I worked from 7 to 3. We went to the Simi Valley Library because they were having a huge used book sale. Only 1 dollar to fill up a brown grocery bag full of any books you wanted. I got some good stuff. Then they were also having a plant and flower sale so we got a flower or plant for each kid on the trip. We only spent 6 bucks, but we got so much stuff! Flowers, books, plants, and fun!

I went to Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt in Simi Valley after work, because they are having their grand opening this weekend. The two smallest sizes are free, and then the prices are insanely low for the rest of the sizes. I got 3 pints for 3 dollars! Flavours including… Cookies & Cream, Strawberry, Heath Bar. Mmmmmm. Also my little sister Kristin works there, so that made it more fun. I might go tomorrow, ha.

I got home around 4 or so. Chris and I are kinda killing time and then we are going to Whole Foods. I want to go because I am in need of some allergy medication, big time. My cousin wants to get…actually I don’t know what he wants. Maybe some good peanut butter.

Then my friend Nick McClain is having a bonfire so we are heading over there for the night. The McClains just might be my number 1 family in Simi. We have known each other practically our whole lives. We even go over there on Christmas usually for a HUGE game of Pictionary and a white elephant gift exchange.

And for now, I need to shower.
